Saudi Global Ports Co.
Saudi Global Ports Co (SGPC) is the second container terminal in King Abdulaziz Seaport in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. SGPC started its commercial operations on the 23rd of April, 2015 as a joint venture between the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia and the Singapore based port and terminal operator, PSA International. In terms of infrastructure, SGPC is equipped with six of the latest Super Post-Panamax gantry cranes capable of handling 24 rows of containers across the vessel’s beam, and a berth depth of 16m (the deepest in the Eastern Region). SGPC is the only container terminal in the Region that is capable of handling the largest container vessels such as the COSCO SHIPPING SOLAR and COSCO SHIPPING PLANET, each capable of carrying up to 23,100 TEUs of containers.
